George Lee Troyer, age 99, of Paris, Michigan, our beloved father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, was called home to glory on Saturday, March 19, 2022, and is now walking with his Lord and is finally reunited with his beloved wife of 68 years, Betty. Lee proudly and bravely served his country in the U.S. Army, stationed in the Pacific during World War II, receiving the purple heart and bronze star. He was preceded in death by his father, William Troyer; and his mother, Elsie Nestle. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Allison and David Ammeraal, Steven and Robin Troyer, Joan and Jim Kraai; grandchildren, Jennifer Osborn, Julie Ammeraal, Joe and Amy Ammeraal, Hollee and John Shanley, Amanda, Keri, Nate, and Dana Jo Troyer; seven great-grandchildren, Meekah, Keegan, Amnaya, Lillian, Jacob, Sierra, and Zoie; brother, Robert Jenkins; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Earl and Lela Raterink, Betty Raterink, Bea Nestle; many special nieces and nephews; his special friends, Wayne and Kathy Bailey and family. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 28, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. with Pastor Bryan Ross officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday, from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be given to Finish the Mission, which is a local veterans assistance organization.
