George Oliver Sinen III, age 92, of Wyoming, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2023. Born in 1931 to George and Maxine Sinen in Muskegon, George grew up there with his two sisters. He was married to Delores Sinen for sixty-one years and together they raised three children. George was employed by the Boy Scouts of America and active in the Jaycees (Junior Chamber of Commerce). He and Delores owned and operated a series of bakeries and small businesses for many decades, raising their children to understand the value of hard work and to carry forward their passion for baking. George loved to bake and present family and friends with sweet treats, namely fruit-filled pies, for any occasion. He also enjoyed playing and watching golf with his beloved wife and family. Some of George’s favorite things were a simple cup of coffee with friends, being with his family, eating at diners, and peanut butter. George is survived by two of his children, Rodger (Patricia) Sinen, Cynthia (Robert) Ferretti. His legacy carries forward in the lives of his four grandchildren, Rodger (Susan) Sinen II, Timothy (Katy) Sinen, Laurel (Michael) Butts, Matthew (Samantha) Ferretti; three great grandchildren, Kenzie (Griffin) Vestal, Grace Sinen, Kaylee McLarty; sister, Darlene (Marty) Martin; many nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by his wife, Delores; son, George Sinen IV; sister, Lois (Les) Smith. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park Ave SW, Wyoming, with Rev. Dennis Gilbert officiating. Burial will be held at Alaska Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Saturday from 10-11 am at the funeral home before services.
