George Fitzsimmons, Jr.

George Robert Fitzsimmons, Jr., age 77, of Jenison went to be with his Lord on Saturday, December 28, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Margaret Fitzsimmons; sister, Patricia Sitzes; nephews, Brian Fitzsimmons, and Jimmy Mennega. George will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, Lois; children, Nicole and Joel Gort, Joseph and Rhonda Fitzsimmons; five grandchildren, Tyler, Dylan, and Kaylie Gort, Margo, and Jack Fitzsimmons; brother, Joseph and Faith Fitzsimmons of Glassboro, NJ, brother-in-law, Len and Tefa Mennega; nieces and nephews. George was born in Philadelphia, PA but raised in Woodbury, NJ. George proudly served in the US Marine Reserves. He enjoyed working in his yard and relaxing by his pool. He had a great sense of humor. He was generous and kind and a great mentor. His greatest joy was being with his family, especially his grandchildren. A private family gathering will take place at a later date. Burial at Georgetown Township Cemetery.
