George Edward Mott

George Edward Mott, age 87, of Wyoming, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 11, 2020.  He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.  He belonged to the Knights of Columbus at Holy Name of Jesus Church, elected as their first Grand Knight.  He was preceded in death by his daughter, Helen Mott, son-in-law, John DeBoode; and sister, Marilyn Foust. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 68 years, Mamie; children: Linda DeBoode, Tom and Kelly Mott;  grandchildren: Eric (Tara) VanDyke, Brent (Mandy) VanDyke, Phil (Aprille) Marsh, Kevin (Tracy) Marsh, Greg (Katelyn) Marsh, Sam (Erika) Mott, Cody (Meghan) Mott, Casey Mott; many great grandchildren; sister, Madelyn Mott; many nieces and nephews.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday, January 16, 2020, at  Holy Name of Jesus Church, 1630 Godfrey Ave. SW, Wyoming, with Rev. Stephen Dudek presiding.  Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday, January 15, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home 4646 Kalamazoo Avenue SE, Kentwood.  Memorial contributions may be made to First Step House of Grand Rapids.
