George Albert Cook

George Albert Cook, age 87, of Wyoming, was called to his heavenly home on Thursday, February 18, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents; Victor and Siena (Hammink) Cook, and his infant sister, Elizabeth Ann. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Annette (Andres); son, Patrick (Tanya) Cook; daughter, Elizabeth (Wade) Borysiak; grandchildren, Nathaniel and Aaron Cook, Logan and Teagan Borysiak; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jack (Lanice) Andres, Gene (Jean) DeGraaf, Doug (Connie) Tobin, Peter (SueLin) Andres, Rob (Peggy) Rocafort, Richard (Vicki) Andres, and Ken (Mary) Friar; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. George valiantly served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He was a quiet man of faith who loved watching his grandchildren’s performances and sporting events. George was an avid reader and could be found at home with a good book or working on the computer. He also enjoyed working on the family cottage at Big Star Lake. George worked at Michigan National Bank and Bank of America until his retirement. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, February 23 at 11 am at Saint John Vianney Catholic Church, 4101 Clyde Park Ave. SW, Wyoming, with Rev. John Vallier officiating. Burial Rosedale Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family one hour prior to Mass at church. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Faith Hospice, St. Mary St. Paul Ministries in Big Rapids, or St. John Vianney Foundation.
