Gelmer Willis Romeyn

Gelmer Romeyn, of Grand Rapids, passed from time to eternity on Sunday, June 23, 2024. He was interactive until almost the very end. Gil was dedicated to God, family, country, and will be long remembered by family and friends. He served in the military, ran his own insurance adjusting business, was a longtime member of Gideons International, and read the Bible cover to cover at least 20 times. Gil also served on church councils and other volunteer positions. Friends and relatives may greet the family on Friday, July 5, 2024, from 7-9pm, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood. There will be a private service and committal service by invitation only. Gil is survived by his daughters, Kim and Robin; grandsons, Malachi, Samuel, and Isaiah; wife, Rev. Ruth Romeyn. For those who wish, a memorial contribution may be made to Gideons International.
