Frederick Martin Shira

Frederick Martin Shira, age 91, of Wyoming, passed away to be with His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, December 20, 2020. Fred was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He loved to tell stories about his life working on the boats, and his 36 years of working at Blackmer Pump. He was preceded in death by his sister. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Norma (Rector) Shira of 65 years; children, Jerry and Jamie Shira, Janet and Bill Doezema, and Tom and Cathy Shira; 9 grandchildren, Jozie and Jay, Gracey and Nate, Jesse, Zion, Sam, Danny and Anne, Kaitie and Garrett, Andrew, and Stephen; 2 great-grandchildren, Raelynn, and Paxton; special family, Verne and Sandi Reed, and their children and families, Nikki and Jason, Todd and Meghan; brother, Harrison and Janet Shira. A private funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 26 at 12 noon at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming, with Rev. Ryan Quanstrom officiating.
