Francine J. Schrotenboer

​Francine Joyce Schrotenboer, aged 81 years, died on December 18, 2023. Her last days and moments were spent surrounded by loved ones at her home in Jenison, Michigan. She peacefully passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Fran was born in Iowa, but has called West Michigan her home for the majority of her life. She was a loving wife and mom, and was known as Nana by her grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, walking, and being with family and friends. God gifted her with a talent and passion for music. Starting at a young age, she used her gift to serve God and others. Throughout her life she played the pipe organ, sang in the choir, and also directed church choirs. She got tremendous joy from playing the piano, especially when leading a congregation in worship. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Burnell; children, grandchildren, and a great-grandchild; Jeff and Becky Schrotenboer (Manny, Joelle, Dante), Mike and Paige Schrotenboer (Corinne and Aaron Brown and their son Joel Michael, Avery, Jameson), Dave and Kristie Schrotenboer (Boden, Elijah, Oakland, Berkeley); siblings; Ron and Pam VanDyke; and Burnie’s siblings, Ed and Celia Schrotenboer, Nance and Walt Horlings, Tom and Cindy Schrotenboer, Kathy and Bob Pohler, and Scott and Julie Schrotenboer; step-sister, Judy Elenbaas; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her siblings; Cynthia and Rudy Kanis, Jim and Kathy VanDyke, Don and Terry Koopman. She is also preceded in death by her granddaughter Gloria. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, December 22, 2023, at Heritage Christian Reformed Church, 3089 84th St. SW, Byron Center with Pastor Steve Armfield and Pastor Daniel Mouw officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Thursday, December 21 from 6-8 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW and Friday from 2:30-3:15 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
