February 21, 2021

Frances (Spencer) Ignasiak, 85 of Jenison, formerly of Wyoming and Spring Lake, MI, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, February 21, 2021. She was preceded in death by parents, Howard and Margaret Spencer; brother, Scott Spencer; spouse, Ronald Ignasiak; and brothers-in-law, Donald VanKampen and Robert Vogelsong. She is lovingly remembered by her children, Jean (Dave) Buys of Jenison, Karrie Noble of Cutlerville, Ronda (Terry) Iden of Jenison, and Wendy Noonan of FL; sisters, Margot VanKampen of Holland, and Peggy Vogelsong of Grand Haven; grandchildren, Lisa (Chris) Coombes of NC, Joshua W. (Kristen) Noonan of FL, great-grandchildren, Lucy Coombes, Joshua G. Noonan and Wendy Marie Noonan, and several nieces, nephews, and friends. Fran enjoyed spending time with family and her church, as well as her dog. She loved spending time outside in the summer working on her gardens, watching and caring for the birds, and visiting with neighbors while walking her dog. She spent her professional career as a Licensed Practical Nurse for 25 years at Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids where she adored working with the newborns in the nursery. Fran had a compassionate heart and gentle soul; she demonstrated those qualities through her love for Christ by doing volunteer work and turning a Christmas vacation to the Dominican Republic into a personal mission trip, blessing a family in need with her spirit for giving. She endured many physical struggles throughout her life and had an unwavering determination not to let them hold her back from being there for her daughters, always, no matter what she was going through, and she was. The memorial service is Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Cottonwood Church, 1101 Cypress Dr, Jenison, MI with Rev Matt Palsrok officiating. Visitation is from 12-1 pm. Contributions may be made to Cottonwood Church or the Humane Society of West Michigan.
