Florence A. Funk

Florence A. Funk, aged 94 of Sand Lake, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2015. She was born on August 28, 1920, in Grand Rapids to Cornelius and Florence Honton. She was preceded in death by her son, James “Jimmy” Edward Funk; husband, Gerald C. Funk; sisters, Geraldine Margaret Honton, Mary C. Honton; and brothers, Lambert, Louis and Cornelius Jr. Honton. Florence is survived by her son, Jerry Lee Funk; grandchildren, Tammy M. and Vern Jr. (Funk) Marcus, Christopher and Lisa Funk, Courtney (Matt Rehm) Funk; great-grandchildren, Brianna and Brandon Simonson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, September 18, 2015 at 11:00 am at St. Sebastian Historic Church, 9408 Wilson Avenue, Byron Center with Msgr. Ancona presiding. Relatives and friends may meet the family at the church one hour prior to the service.
