Faye Deane Farr

Faye Deane (Baker) Farr, born January 18, 1933, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024. She was born in Alicia, Arkansas to Zell and Mary Baker. Faye delivered newspapers for The Arkansas Democrat and picked cotton before moving with her parents to Michigan at the age of 14. Faye married Norman B. Farr Sr. on April 12, 1949. Together they had 6 children. Faye retired from General Motors (Alpine plant) after 30 years as a seamstress. She was very proud of her dedicated service to GM. She was a proud member of the UAW and enjoyed going to meetings and catching up. One of her favorite things to do was to spend time with her family and visit the cabin. Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Norman; daughters, Susan Magnuson and Pamela Simons; grandson, Matt Farr; her brother, Charles Thompson; and sister, Zelda Froman. She is survived by her children, Linda Petree, Norm and Rhonda Farr, Carolyn Petree, James and Elizabeth Farr, and son-in-law, Scott Magnuson; sister, Diane Ontis; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. The service will be held at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at MKD Funeral Home – 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming MI. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. The family would like to invite you to a luncheon after the service at Ferrand Estates, 4528 Halifax Avenue SW, Wyoming, MI 49519 Faye will be interred at Grandville Cemetery.
