Mary Sweers

Mary Sweers, age 77, of Kentwood went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, June 13, 2026.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerrit and Katherine Meekhof; sister, Karen Kerkstra. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 54 years, Ken; sons, Jason and Michelle Sweers, Matthew and Robin Sweers; grandchildren, Austin and Brooklynn Sweers, Lauren and Ryan Stephenson, Cameron and Sophie Sweers, Benjamin Sweers; great grandchildren, Isabella, Henry, Archer, and Kenny; siblings, Jan Brunink, Ed Meekhof, Wendy and Phil Blackport, Barb Walenga, Gary Meekhof, Pam and Steve DeRivera; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 am Friday, June 19 at Brookside Christian Reformed Church, 3600 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Grand Rapids, with Rev. Paul DeVries officiating.  Burial will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 4-7 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood and on Friday from 10-10:45 am at the church prior to the service.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Corewell Health Hospice.
