Evelyn Kopenkoskey

Evelyn Ida (Nickels) Kopenkoskey slipped from the bonds of this earth and into the hands of God on April 18, 2022. She was 95 years old. She will be deeply missed by her sons, Paul (Barb) and Jim; five grandchildren: Christa, Stashia, Stephen, Brooke, and Nicholas; brother, Delmar Nickels; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Larry and June Kopenkoskey. Evelyn was born in Byron Center on April 15, 1927. She married her husband, Jack Kopenkoskey, in 1949, and he preceded her in death on February 11, 2004. Evelyn lived her life by being the change she wished to see in the world. “A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory.” The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at St. John Vianney Church, 4101 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming, with Rev. John Vallier presiding. Burial at Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 4 - 8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the St. John Vianney Church.
