Evelyn Koets

Evelyn Koets, age 80, of Hudsonville, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 18, 2023. She lived her life loving and caring for others. Evelyn was preceded in death by her brother, Ken Vis; two sisters, Elizabeth DeBoer, Lois Hekman; son-in-law, Robert Krueger; and nephew, Patrick Geers. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 54 years, Jay; children, Shonda Krueger, Cami and Rob Nyquist, Jayson and Leah Koets; grandchildren, Nichole, Kayla, Christian, Rylie, and Jaylynn; sisters and brother, Harriet Karel, Esther and Mike Alsum, Winona and Cal Geers, Bill and Barb Vis, Patricia Vis-Deur; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Lorrie Vis, Charles Hekman, Mel DeBoer, Lee and Ruth Koets, Noreen Koets; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at Georgetown Christian Reformed Church, 6475 40th St., Hudsonville with Pastor Marc Nelesen officiating. Burial will take place at Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday, October 23, from 5-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Hudsonville Christian School or Unity Christian High School.
