Evelyn Elaine (Root) Langton

Evelyn Elaine (Root) Langton, age 92, of Kentwood passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Floyd Root and Richard Langton; parents, George and Ada Reffitt; brothers, Arvid, Luther, Wilbert and Gilbert Reffitt; sisters, Ruby Hughey, Ethel Gill, Ruth Spoolstra. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Lois Taylor, Robert Chech, Douglas Chech; grandchildren, Nicholas and Michael Chech; sisters, Vera Biehl, Jean Lather; brother, Ronald (Donna) Reffitt; numerous nieces and nephews, with special thanks to Kathy Nelson. Evelyn was an avid gardener and enjoyed planting her flowers in the spring. Funeral services will be held 11 am Monday, August 23, 2021 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, Grandville, with Pastor Dennis Gilbert officiating. Burial Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 9:30 to 11 am at the funeral home prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to charity of one’s choice.
