Eugene W. Swope

Eugene W. Swope, age 66, of Ravenna, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2019.  He was preceded in death by his father, Harvey Swope. Gene will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 22 years, Darcy Swope; children, Michael Mol, Phoenix Noelle, Glade Swope; grandchildren, Pascal Mol, Ada Mol; mother, Mary Elaine Swope; sisters, Cheryl and Steve Hoyt, Brenda DeHart; extended family and friends.  Gene was a US Navy Vietnam Veteran and a software engineer by trade. After he retired, he loved working on his house and yard and he was a true do-it-yourselfer. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Thursday, December 19, 2019, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW.  Military honors will be provided at the funeral home on Thursday at 3 p.m. by the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. For those with stories or anecdotes, please bring in a copy to the visitation for the family’s collection to be added to an album to share with family and friends.
