Eugene Jesse Ashby

Eugene Jesse Ashby, age 67, of Ft. Meyer Beach, FL, formerly of Lamont, MI, was called to his heavenly home, surrounded by his family on Thursday, October 22, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Magdalene Ashby. He retired from Keebler after 30 years of faithful service. He also worked at Griffin Pest Control before moving to Ft. Meyers Beach, FL. After moving to Ft. Meyers Beach, he worked at the Pink Shell Beach Resort. He enjoyed hiking, biking, camping and trivia. He will be lovingly remembered by his children and grandchildren, Rachael and Steve Taylor (Leah, Levi and Jade), Elizabeth Ashby (Hannah, Caleb), Sara and Michael Gilbert; sister, Emily Kay and Donald Grey along with their children, David and Lori. A private family celebration of Gene’s life will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2015. Friends and relatives may meet the family Saturday from 1-3 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home Memories Room (located next door to the funeral home) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, Grandville.
