Eugene H. Potgeter

Eugene Henry Potgeter, age 86, of Allendale, passed away peacefully at home and went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 7, 2020.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy; his parents; brother, Maurice; and brother-in-law, Judd Wolbrink.  Gene will be lovingly remembered by his children, Cindy and Tim Baker, Stan and Kathy Potgeter, Gary and Diane Potgeter, Sue and Kurt Shuck; grandchildren, Eric and Julie Baker, Hayley Baker, Alexander and Tryphena Potgeter, Nolan and Erin Potgeter, Douglas and Hannah Potgeter, Brian and Kaitlyn Potgeter, Matthew Shuck, Makayla Shuck; ten great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Willis and JoAnn Potgeter, Kenneth and Shirley Potgeter; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Joyce Wolbrink, Bette and Jim Rohn, Phil and Deanie Wolbrink. Gene proudly served in the US Army from 1953-1955 in Germany.  Gene had a love for farming and nature.  Gene maintained all of the buses for Allendale Public Schools and taught auto mechanics classes at Allendale High School.  A private graveside service will be held on Friday, June 12, 2020 at 11am at Allendale Township Cemetery. The service will be available via livestream at www.mkdfuneralhome.com (click “Join Live Service” bar near the bottom of home page).
