
Ethel Faye Hickok, age 85, rests peacefully with Jesus after a courageous battle with cancer. Ethel passed away Friday, July 21, 2023, at home with her family surrounding her with love. She was preceded in death by her husband James A. Hickok Jr.; her parents, Albert and Myra (Dame) Mongar; brothers, Walter, Leo, Alvin, Kermit, Stanley, Gene and Keith; sisters, Cleo Zeeryp and Blanche Boreman. Surviving are her sons, Randall J. (Cheryl) Hickok and Kevin E. Hickok; grandchildren, Collin R. (Sayge) Hickok and Raegan E. Hickok; great-granddaughter, Braelynn H. Hickok; several nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and great-nephews. Ethel was born in Buckley, MI and eventually moved to Rockford, MI. She worked for Wolverine, met and married Jim and had her boys. Most of her career, she was with General Motors, and very proud to be a part of this company. Ethel was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers and Lions. She never missed any sporting event or activity that her children and grandchildren were participating in. You always knew she was there, by her exuberant cheering from her seat! Family was most important to her, as was her faith in Jesus Christ. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 27 at 11 a.m. at Belmont Baptist Church, 6446 Belmont NE, Belmont, MI with Rev. Kurt Kigar officiating. Burial Plainfield Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at MKD Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Dr. NE, Belmont and also from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Lemmen-Holton Cancer Pavilion.
