Esther Poortvliet

Esther Poortvliet, age 76, of Jenison, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 24, 2017.  She was a 30 year employee of Jenison Public Schools.  She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, David Poortvliet; her children and grandchildren, Tamara David (Loren), Todd Poortvliet, Sara and Adam Wolfert (Sullivan, Lincoln); brothers, Tom and Evelyn Groelsma, Jack Groelsma; several nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held on Friday 11 am at Grace Bible Church, 3715 Wilson Ave. SW, Grandville.  Interment Floral View Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 3-5 and 7-9 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Jenison Center for the Arts or Grace Bible Church Choir.
