Esther Koning

Esther Koning, age 92, formerly of Hudsonville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 7, 2025, and went to be with the Lord. She was a charter member at Messiah Christian Reformed Church. Esther put the Lord first in her life and held her family so dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Roger in 2007; her brother and sisters, Willis and Alverna Timmer, Marie Timmer, Gertrude Timmer, Winifred and Marvin Van Kampen, Henrietta Timmer; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gene and Shirley Vander Molen. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Dawn and Scott Wustman, David and Kimberly Koning, Douglas and Susan Koning; grandchildren: Michael and Callie Wustman, Jennifer and Joe Larson, Joshua and Stacey Wustman, Katheryn and Curtis Busscher, Sarah Koning; 11 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Mildred and Bruce Bartels; and many nieces and nephews. We are thankful for a mother who lived a life showing us Jesus. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Messiah Christian Reformed Church, 2900 Springdale, Hudsonville with Pastor Gale Tien officiating. Burial will take place at Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Tuesday, August 12, from 6 to 8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. and 10 to 10:45 at the church prior to the service at church.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Hudsonville Christian School.
