Esther   DeYoung-Smith

DeYoung-Smith, Esther (nee Patros) Esther DeYoung-Smith, age 99, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2013.  She was preceded in death by her husbands, James DeYoung and OC Smith; brother, Leo Patros.  She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Ronald and Sharon DeYoung, Judith and Joe Hoogerwerf; 5 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; stepson, Charles Smith.  Esther worked in retail for most of her working life.  She loved reading, traveling, music, dancing and having her family over for Syrian dinners.  According to her wishes, cremation has taken place and the family will gather privately for a celebration of her life.
