
Ellsworth “Al” Johnson, age 100, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, September 30, 2023. Al proudly served in the US Army during World War II and was part of the Office of Strategic Services. He was preceded in death by his wife of 74 years, Jeanette, and his son-in-law, Donald Moseler. Al will be lovingly remembered by his children, Nancy Moseler and Vern Dulany, and Jim and Anna Johnson; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Jeff and Teresa Moseler (Raeanne, Jack), Kristy and Rick VanWort (Chloe, Bryce), Michael and Anna Johnson (Elyse, Amelia), David and Amy Johnson (Nolan, Luke, Jonas), Jeff and Kristine Johnson; his special friend, Arlene DeFrell; many dear nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Rev. Harry Koops and Rev. Michael Johnson officiating. Burial will take place at Floral View Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family from 10-11 am prior to the service at the funeral home. The family wishes to thank the staff of Riley’s Grove Assisted Living in Zeeland for the love and care that Al received while he was there.
