Ellen June Nardin, age 76, was born March 7, 1939 and was welcomed home to Jesus on Saturday, December 19, 2015. She was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed ceramics, gardening, music and singing with her husband, Bud, as well as their many cross state bicycle rides together. They also had the privilege of traveling together all over the world to many beautiful destinations. Above all, Ellen’s commitment and passion of serving her Lord and sharing Christ’s love was evident to all. She was a strong woman of faith and tender hearted. The legacy that she leaves behind will be carried on through her family that she so dearly loved. She will be greatly missed by her husband of 58 years, Bud Nardin; children, Bud and Donna Nardin, Scott and Cheri Nardin, Penny and Terry Haight, Shelly Nardin, James Nardin; 12 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; sister, Dorothy and Ken Viening; brother, Steven Scott; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. She will also be lovingly remembered by her dialysis family of 11 years, where many friendships were established. Ellen’s home going celebration will be held on Wednesday, December 23 at 1 pm at Grand Rapids First Church Prayer Chapel (Door M), 2100 44th St. SW, Wyoming, with Pastor Larry French officiating. Interment Grandville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday, December 22 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW and on Wednesday from 12-1 pm at church prior to the service.
