Eileen Terpstra

On Monday morning, September 18, 2017, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and dear friend, Eileen (Engelsma) Terpstra, entered into the glorious presence of her Savior and Lord as her earthly journey ended.  Eileen was born to Charles and Lena Engelsma on November 16, 1933, and was preceded in death by her dear grandson, Andrew Schipper; her parents, nine of her ten siblings and their spouses, Harry Engelsma, Jennie (Ray) Prins, Ted (Helen) Engelsma, Winnie (Jack) Doorn, Dewey (Dena) Engelsma, Sadie (Menno) Smits, George (Dorothy) Engelsma, Melvin (Grace) Engelsma, Sybil Engelsma; brother-in-law, Jay Bomers.  Her loss will be deeply felt by her loving husband of nearly 65 years, Gordon J. Terpstra; her children, Suzanne Looyenga, Luanne (Tom) Schipper, Charles (Verna) Terpstra, Todd (Valerie) Terpstra, Jeffrey (Kathy) Terpstra; 27 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; sister, Johanna Bomers, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Bud (Nancy) Kloosterhouse, Rev. Alvin (Mary) Machiela, Larry (Judy) Terpstra; along with many much loved nieces and nephews.  A memorial service for Eileen will be held Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017 at 7 pm at Hope Protestant Reformed Church, 1580 Ferndale SW, Walker, with her pastor, Rev. David Overway officiating.  Interment Riverbend Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family for refreshments and fellowship following the service at Hope Protestant Reformed Christian School. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions in Eileen’s memory to Hope Protestant Reformed Christian School.
