Eileen M. Felix

Eileen M. Felix, age 92, of Wyoming, born on May 2, 1926, passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, April 6, 2019. She was born in Grand Rapids, the only girl with five brothers. Eileen graduated from Grand Rapids Christian High in 1944. She was preceded in death by Gerald J. (Jack) Felix, her husband of more than 67 years. Eileen will be lovingly remembered by her children, Mary Boes, Jerry and Sheri Felix, Ruth Felix; grandchildren, Bryan and Brittnay Boes, Katie Hartigh, Christy and Scott Veltman, Andy and Chelsea Felix, Dan and Lillian Felix; great grandchildren, Hayley, Zoelle and Atticus Boes, Ashley, Jacob and Hailey Veltman, Levi Felix, Brycen and Brynlee Stewart; brother, Jack DeHaan; sister-in-law, Jean Stiles. Eileen was a member of Beverly Reformed Church for more than 70 years, singing in the choir and serving in the Women’s Circle ministry. She loved her family and friends, music, travel, dark chocolate, butter pecan ice cream and seafoam candy. She was a longtime employee of Wyoming State Bank and retired from there long after it became Michigan National Bank. Eileen’s last words were, “Jesus, I’m coming home!” Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2019, at Beverly Reformed Church, 2141 Porter Street SW, Wyoming, with Pastor Shane Floyd officiating. Interment Grandville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday, April 9, from 5-8 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville), 4145 Chicago Drive SW, and Wednesday at the church from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Beverly Reformed Church or Faith Hospice. Her family would like to thank her friends at Beverly Reformed Church, neighbors on Avon Avenue, Grand View Terrace, at Wolf Lake and the staff of Metro Hospital, Faith Hospice and Vista Springs, Wyoming.
