Edwin R. Vander Woude

Edwin R. Vander Woude, age 88, of Jenison, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 23, 2017.  He was an active member in his local church serving as elder and deacon.  Ed was a 34 year employee at Rogers Department Store and longtime member of Kiwanis.  He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.  He was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Gary Tibboel, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Bette and Ivan Dornbush.  He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be sadly missed by his wife of 62 years, Wilma; children, Dale and Mari Vander Woude, Doug and Amy Vander Woude, Dawn and Chuck Brower; 13 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Stewart and Carrie Vander Woude; brother-in-law, Albert and Mary Mulder; and many nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Baldwin Street Christian Reformed Church, 2101 Baldwin Street, Jenison, with Rev. Donald Van Slyke officiating.  Interment Fort Custer National Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. and Wednesday from 9:30-10:15 a.m. at the church prior to the service.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, 733 Third Ave, Suite 510, New York, NY 10017.
