Edwin L. Peterman

Edwin (Whitey) Peterman age 70, of Grand Rapids was called home by his Heavenly Father on Saturday, January 18, 2025 surrounded by his family.  He was born January 4, 1955 to the late Ronald and Jean Peterman. He was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Ruiter; mother in-law, Betty Ruiter.  He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 32 years, Connie; a daughter, Kimberly Peterman; sister, Linda; brother, Randy (Bev) Peterman; sisters in-law, Cora DelPercio, Roxane Cotton, Heather (Dane) Powell, Nancy Ruiter; brother in-law, Dean Bomar; and several nieces and nephews.  Whitey retired from GM in 2009 after 33 years.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking and taking his yearly trip to Disney with his family.  Whitey enjoyed cruising with his special friends, Lisa and Joanne.  One of his true passions was gardening, where he never had a weed. Funeral services will be held 11 am Saturday, January 25, 2025  at MKD Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 3131 S. Division Ave. Wyoming with Rev. Dave Struyk officiating.  Burial will be held at Sidney Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday, January 24, 2025 from 4 - 7pm and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers those who wish may make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
