Edward Stein

Ed Stein, age 64, of Comstock Park, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 12, 2026.

Ed was known as a hardworking man who spent many years in the excavating business. He took pride in his work and in providing for his family. Ed also served his community as a member of the board for the Hudsonville Fair.

Outside of work, Ed enjoyed spending time with his family and making memories at the Silver Lake Sand Dunes, a place he loved visiting. His greatest joy was being surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and loved ones.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 43 years, Laurie; his children and grandchildren, Chris and Elizabeth Stein (Alexis, Brayden, Carson, Sierra), Edward and Amy Stein (Dallas, Emery, Preston, Tripp, Christian, Paris), Andrew and Ashlyn Stein (Jamison, Emmitt, Paxton, Jovi), Jessica and Michael Stellema, and Dylan Stein; his siblings, Donald Stein, Barb Stein, Donna Graveling, Lyle Stein, Roger Stein, and Theresa and Scott Van Dyke; his father-in-law, Vern and Sally Burgess; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Jamestown) 2371 Riley St., Hudsonville, with Rev. Bob Nyenhuis officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday from 5-8 pm at the funeral home and Wednesday from 10 to 10:45 am prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Heart Association.
