Edward Bert Vander Weide

Edward Bert Vander Weide, aged 92 of Grand Rapids, passed away on Friday, January 1, 2016. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn; son, Fred; grandson, Nicholas Edward; and sisters, Josephine Vande Kerk and Janeva Vermeer. He is survived by his children, Ron (Mary) Vander Weide, Paula (Dan) Dykstra; grandchildren, Andy and Ben Vander Weide, Dan Dykstra; and brother-in-law, Dirk Mellema. Ed proudly served his country in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved spending time at his cottage in Northport, MI. Funeral services for Ed will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave SE, Kentwood with Rev. Steve DeVries officiating. Interment Rest Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet the family at the funeral home on Monday from 5-8 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project or World Renew.
