Earl J. Doornbos

Earl J. Doornbos, age 88, of Wyoming, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, December 22, 2017. He was preceded in death by his darling great-granddaughter, Payge Elisabeth Dykhouse. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 68 years, Alice (Kist) Doornbos; children, Douglas and Judy Doornbos, Jane and Blair Dykhouse; grandchildren, Aaron and Lisa Dykhouse, Annie and Nick Blystra, Susie and Aaron Leestma, Kristie and Matt Bloem; great-grandchildren, Addie, Janet, Harrison, Gracie, Andrew, Peter, Jacob, Ben, and William; and several nieces and nephews. Earl loved his family dearly.  He retired from MichCon after 41 ½ years as District Foreman.  Earl was proud to serve at Olivet Reformed Church.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 27, at 11 a.m. at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Rev. Nicholas Blystra and Rev. Roze Meyer Bruins officiating.  Interment Grandville Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Children’s Music Ministry at Central Reformed Church.
