Dr. Frances Blok Popovich

Dr. Frances Blok Popovich, age 90, of Grand Rapids, went to be with her Lord on Monday, August 19, 2019.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, A. Harold and her sister, Barbara Visser. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, David Popovich, Jim and Brenda Popovich, Annette and Todd Blakeslee, Philip and Danae Popovich; ten grandchildren; siblings, Arie Blok, Bill and Irma Blok, Pauline GeBuys, Art and Karen Blok, Tony and Diane Blok; and many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.  Fran devoted her life to translating the Bible among the Maxakali tribe in Brazil and training the next generation of Bible translators. Fran was also the author of several books. Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 24th, 2 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Kentwood) 4646 Kalamazoo Avenue SE, with Dr. Joel Beeke officiating. Interment Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Wycliffe Bible Translators.
