
Dr. Eugene Van Dyken, age 89, formerly of Coopersville,was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 2, 2021. Gene was a kind and loving dad, grandpa and great grandpa who was blessed with a gentle and humble spirit. Gene was a dentist in Coopersville for 40 years until he retired in 1998 where he then moved to Jenison. He was active in both his community and church, serving his Lord with his time and talents in many ways. Many memories were made over the years in summers up at Paradise Cove where he enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends. Above all, his faith in Jesus and love for his family was evident to all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy and grandson, Benjamin Van Dyken. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Marc and Karen Van Dyken, Kristy and Dave Carey, Phil and Michele Van Dyken, Amy and Troy Brouwer; grandchildren, Nicholas Van Dyken, Danielle and Ryan Gill, Jake and Abbey Campbell-Garlick, Tyler and Kendrah Van Dyken, Maggie Mae Van Dyken, Alexis Brouwer, Skylar Brouwer, Sienna Brouwer; six great-grandchildren; brother, Jay and Shirley Van Dyken; sisters-in-law, Barbara Van Dyken, and Mary Van Dyken; several loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Georgetown Christian Reformed Church with Dr. Rev. Marc Nelesen officiating. The service will be available via livestream at https://www.georgetowncrc.org/gene. Burial Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Saturday, November 6, from 4-7 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW and also from 1-1:45 prior to the service at church.
