Doug H. Blacquiere, age 69, of Grandville, Michigan, passed away peacefully to be with his Lord on Monday, March 16, 2026. Family and faith were at the heart of his life. He had a wonderful sense of humor and found joy in making others laugh. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing, and running, and was always happiest when he was outside. Skilled with his hands, he could build or fix just about anything with the right tools. He cherished visiting his children across the country, but his heart always belonged to Arizona, a place he truly loved. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Virginia Oyler; parents, John and Henrietta Blacquiere; sister, Linda Johnson; sister-in-law, Connie Blacquiere; and nephew, Andrew Blacquiere. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Mary Jo Blacquiere; children, Rebecca (Eric) Heemstra, Kevin (Sini) Blacquiere, and Scott (Tara) Blacquiere; son-in-law, Luke Oyler; 10 grandchildren; siblings, Karen (Jack) Strowenjans, Kathy Blacquiere, David Blacquiere, Rick (Lynn) Blacquiere, and Jaci (Tim) McKee; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, with his sons, Kevin and Scott Blaquiere officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Saturday from 1-3 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Hospice at Trillium Woods.
