Douglas A. Anes, age 73, of Wyoming, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Friday, May 12, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Evelyn; and his four siblings, John, Louann, Jack and Marilyn. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 52 years, Helen; daughter, Rhonda and Kevin Molda; grandchildren, Katie and Gary tenHaaf, Hilary and Clark Gilman, Benjamin Molda; great grandchildren, Makenzie and Joanna tenHaaf, Brianna Gilman; siblings, Phyllis and Ken Frederick, Phillip and Mary Anes, Marie Anes, Robert Tucker; and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff of Spectrum Health Hospice for their compassionate care and a special thanks to Doug’s nurse, Valerie, for all her time and attention to his needs. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive SW with Rev. Paul Topp officiating. Interment Rosedale Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Spectrum Health Hospice.
