Dorothy Lou (Vander Lee) Vink, age 87, was taken to glory on Saturday, November 22, 2025. Dorothy was a child of God who dearly loved her Lord, her family, and her church family. She was a member of the Protestant Reformed Churches (Grand Haven, First, Grand Rapids, and Grandville) all of her life. She was a dedicated homemaker who could cook, sew, knit, and crochet. Dorothy really enjoyed baking, especially baking with yeast. She didn’t particularly enjoy cleaning but did it with energy and vigor. Dorothy enjoyed good music, singing, and time spent traveling with her family, from the Atlantic to the Pacific, and across Canada.
Dorothy is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ken; children, Kevin and Arlys Vink, Karen and Brian Kuiper, Paul and Elizabeth Vink, and Dale and Vickie Vink; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Gordon and Hermina Vink. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerrit and Edith Vander Lee, and brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Wilma Vander Lee. The family would like to thank the caring staff at Sheldon Meadows for their loving care of Dorothy for nearly four years.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Grandville Protestant Reformed Church, 4320 40th St. SW with Professor Douglas Kuiper officiating. Burial will take place at Georgetown Township Cemetery.
