Dorothy T. Hoekstra

Dorothy T. “Toots” Hoekstra, age 84, of Kentwood, was called to her heavenly home on Tuesday, October 27, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene; parents, Charles and Nellie Zichterman. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Rhonda and Tim Kositzky, Debra Hoekstra; grandchildren, Jeremy and Jennie Holwerda, Amber and Randy Boerema, Kelly and Jim Treadway, Dana and Adam Priestley, Joseph and Paula DeGroot, Sarah Wisniewski-Terrien and Eric Terrien, Elizabeth and Jared Dosenberry; great grandchildren, Breanna, Isaiah, Hudson, Harper, Kaelynn, Grayson, Kerington, Landon, Olivia, Gracie, Gibson, Violet, Carter, Henry, Kaitlyn, Lucas, Cameron; many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friend, Russ. Dorothy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed crocheting and made booties and slippers for all of the grandchildren. She loved to garden and then can the produce from the garden. She was also an expert at making pine cone wreaths for the holidays. Most recently, she loved playing hand and foot, canasta, going out to dinner and spending time with Rhonda, Tim and Ginger. A private family memorial celebrating Dorothy’s life will be held.
