Dorothy R.  Hook

Hook, Dorothy R. Dorothy R. Hook, age 95, of Hudsonville, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, July 28, 2014.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Dewey and her infant daughter, Shirley Mae. Dorothy was a strong woman of faith who served her Lord with her time and talents.  She was involved at her church and also volunteered at Love INC of Allendale.  She will be dearly missed by her children, Linda and Carl Haveman, Anthony Hook, Donna and Mike Timmer; grandchildren, Jeff and Robin Haveman, Larry and Lynnae Haveman, Dale and Rachel Haveman, Tom Haveman, David and Erica Haveman, Mark and Cory Timmer, Lisa and Tim Schoonveld, Penny and Keith Kelly, Crystal and Sgt. Robert Fortney; 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Adema; brother, Bert Westveld; brother-in-law and sister-in-law,  Dan Kloosterhouse, Dora Bryant and several nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held Friday 11:00 am at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf (corner of Avery and Scott) 6651 Scott St., Allendale with Rev. Aaron Vriesman officiating.  Interment Maplewood Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family on Thursday from 4-8 pm at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Love INC of Allendale.  The family would like to thank the staff of Sheldon Meadows and Spectrum Hospice for their compassionate love and care given to Dorothy.
