Dorothy Fae Rose

Dorothy Fae (Boekestein) Rose, age 67, of Jenison, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family. Dorothy was a loving and loyal mom and grandma who cherished her family. She had a love of sports and enjoyed watching her family as they participated in various activities. Dorothy bowled in a league for several years where she made many close friends. She was also active in the Red Hat Society, and had a love and appreciation for lighthouses. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Frieda Boekestein, brother, Edwin Boekestein; sister, Ardis Evink; and her dear friend, Chara Awolfe. She will be lovingly remembered by her children and grandchildren, Ken and Lisa Rose (Ellery, Brady, Chloe), Kim and Keith Tidey (Morgan, Mason, Logan); sisters and brothers-in-law, Jane and Frank Nibbelink, Harriet and John Rozema, Betty and Rev. Kevin Schutt, Marv and Diane Evink; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she adored. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday 1 PM at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive SW with her brother-in-law, Rev. Kevin Schutt officiating. Interment Grandville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
