Dorothy Ebels

Dorothy Ebels went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the age of 86 years.  She was born on April 25, 1930 in Grand Rapids, MI.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Herman in 2000; her son, Larry in 1994; parents, Edward and Nellie (Stephan) Romkema; brother, John and Martin Romkema; sisters, Mary (age 3), Gertrude Aardema, Helen Wolf, Clara (Ten Brock) Iciek.  She is survived by her daughter, Debora Ten Broeke; son, John and Diane Ebels; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Ebels; grandchildren, Mary Ten Broeke, Jason Ebels, Cody Ebels, Madelynn Ebels, Samantha Ebels, Julie Anne Ebels; great grandchildren, Ethan Ebels, Keira Bonz; brother-in-law, Norman Wolf.  Dort loved to do family, church and presidential genealogies.  She also enjoyed taking pictures of people and places where she went.  Memorial services will be held on Thursday, January 19 at 11 am at Baldwin Street Christian Reformed Church, 2101 Baldwin, Jenison, with Rev. Jay Pruim officiating.  Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 10-10:45 am at the church prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
