Dorothy Bauman

Dorothy Bauman, age 88, of Jenison, passed away peacefully to be with her Lord on Tuesday, August 20, 2024. Dorothy was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She loved being around people whether it was just hanging out, playing bingo, shopping, or going out to eat. She loved spending time in her flower garden. Dorothy loved to stay active, and especially enjoyed her bowling league. She loved spending winters in Florida when she was able. Dorothy was preceded in death by her first husband, John DeJong in 1997; second husband, Nick Bauman in 2023; son, Robert DeJong in 2010; and several siblings. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Roger DeJong, Jerry and Denise DeJong; grandchildren, Jeremy DeJong, Tammy and Mitchell Geerts, Daniel DeJong; great-grandchildren, Arleigh Geerts, Hendrik Geerts; daughters-in-law, Brenda DeJong and Carolyn DeJong; sister, Sandy and Jerry Johnson; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, June and Verna DeJong, Melvin Bauman; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, August 23, 2024 at Rosewood Church, 2795 Rosewood St. Jenison with Pastor Lindsey Burkey officiating. Burial will take place at Floral View Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Friday one hour prior to the service at the church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Emmanuel Hospice.
