Donna Ann Johnson

Donna was born in Lansing, MI on March 30, 1931. She was raised in Lansing and Ann Arbor. She moved to Caledonia when she was 17 years old. It was there she met her husband, Jack Johnson, and they married on August 2, 1953. She lived and raised her family in Caledonia. She also lived in Nogales, AZ for a few years and retired to Alto, MI. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Johnson; parents, George Cox, Waive Long; stepfather, Stanley Long; sister, Jean Kenyon; brother, Rolland “Rolly” Cox. She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Kinney, Cindy Johnson, Laura Johnson Kelly; son, Jack (Alan) Johnson; grandchildren, Casey (Angela) Kinney, Kevin Kinney, Katie Kelly, Hannah Kelly; great grandchildren, Allison and Zack Kinney; sisters-in-law, Colleen Cox, Dorothy “Dottie” Johnson; many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her lifelong family friends, Joan Howard, Barb Scott; and her Legacy buddy, Barb Hodges. She lived in the Village of Caledonia and enjoyed so many special friends. For many years she worked for the State Bank of Caledonia and was very proud to be a founding member of the Premier Club. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church of Caledonia. She also volunteered at the Santa Clause Girls for many years. She was a member of Eastern Stars of Caledonia, Caledonia Women’s Club, and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed bowling, painting classes and ceramics. She loved to travel and cherished her many lifelong friendships. She loved her family. She was very active in participating and watching their many activities and pursuits. She was a lifelong supporter of animal rights. Donna’s family would like to thank the staff and caretakers of Legacies of Caledonia and the Care Team Hospice. In lieu of flowers, please donate in her name to the Caledonia United Methodist Church or the Humane Society of Kent County. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 12 p.m. at the Caledonia United Methodist Church, 250 Vine St., Caledonia. The family will be available for visitation one hour prior to the service. A luncheon will be provided by the Women In Step of the United Methodist Church immediately following the services. Burial will be held at Whitneyville Cemetery.
