Donald Hassevoort

Donald Jay Hassevoort, age 78, of Hudsonville, went to be with his Lord and Savior suddenly on Thursday, February 18, 2016. He was preceded in death by 15 brothers and sisters, as well as 14 brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years, Betty; children, Jan (Kevin) Zoerhof, Gloria (John) Nagelkirk, Sheryl (Doug) Ulberg, Doug (Sue) Hassevoort, Darlene Ham, Dan (Mary) Hassevoort; 17 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren, with two on the way; two sisters, Ruth (Ken) Knap, Kay (Terry) Kraai; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joan Hassevoort, Gertrude Hassevoort, Beverly Hassevoort, Bern (Janet) DeRoo, Dorothy DeRoo, Art (Sharon) DeRoo, Wayne (Joyce) Blaukamp, Harv (Sherri) DeRoo; many, many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 am on Monday at North Blendon Christian Reformed Church, 7284 Taylor, Hudsonville, with Rev. Aaron Vriesman officiating. Interment Blendon Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Sunday from 1-4 and 6-8 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf (corner of Avery and Scott) 6651 Scott St., Allendale.
