Dollie Jean Godfrey

Dollie J. Godfrey, age 95, of Hastings, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 surrounded by her family.  Dollie enjoyed flowers, birds, crocheting afghans, knitting, cooking and baking. She was an avid bowler, and most of all, spending time with her family.  Dollie worked many years at Thornapple Manor as a cook, also as a waitress at the CopperPot.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Godfrey; children: Ernest Laverne Staup, Rebecca Grace Whetstone; son-in-law, Bill McNutt; brothers and sisters.  She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Linda McNutt, Dianna Maka, Merle (Sally Perez) Staup, Leo (Rose) Hendershot, Larry (Terry) Hendershot; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.  

A memorial service will be held 11 am Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood, with Pastor Dennis Gilbert officiating.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Grand Rapids Home for Veterans or Corewell Hospice (https://corewellhealth.org/foundation).
