Diane Lynn (VanDyke) Busscher, age 70, of Jenison was called to her Heavenly Home on Saturday, April 17, 2021. Diane was preceded in death by her father, John VanDyke; brother, Ronald VanDyke; sister-in-law, Laurie VanDyke; parents-in-law, Arthur and Johanna Busscher; and her nephew, Vincent Busscher. She will be dearly missed by her husband of 52 years, Gary Busscher; children, Ranee (Gordon) Christian, Bradley (Michelle) Busscher, Brent (Cindy) Busscher, Doug (Shannon) Busscher; grandchildren, Abigail (fiancé, Aaron Langerak), Katherine, and Jack Christian, Brianna, Ashten, Alexander, and Braeden Busscher, Morgan, Courtney, and Ella Busscher, Korrine, Joelle, and Nico Busscher; mother, Adriana VanDyke; sisters and brother, Jan (Ron) Wiersum, Kevin (Bev) VanDyke, Nancee (Burk) Holzgen; sister-in-law, Sue VanDyke; brothers-in-law, Arthur Busscher, Glen (Susan) Busscher, Paul Busscher, Warren (Diane) Busscher; uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Diane was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She especially loved and prayed for her 13 grandchildren. Diane was devoted to her church family and her God, serving in many capacities as Calvinette leader, children’s worship leader, women’s Bible study member and leader, and choir member. Diane cared for residents of Brookcrest Christian Nursing Home for 27 years. She enjoyed reading, gardening, beekeeping, and canning. She was a fighter, surviving a three-month battle with COVID-19 and more than two months of complications associated with it. A special thanks to the many doctors, nurses, and therapists that cared for her since November. You gave her a chance to recover! Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 23, 2021 at 11:00 am at Baldwin Street Christian Reformed Church, 2101 Baldwin Street, Jenison MI 49428. A graveside service will be held at Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday, April 22 from 5-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, and also on Friday from 10-10:45 am at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make contributions to any of the three Christian schools attended by her grandchildren – Grand Rapids Christian, Grandville Calvin Christian, or Unity Christian High School.
