Dennis John Hilbrand, age 62, of Hudsonville, was released from the hands of his family into the healing hands of Jesus on Friday, April 21, 2023, after a courageous 2 ½ year battle with ALS. Dennis was a loving husband, dad, grandpa, son, and brother and was a fierce protector of his family. He was blessed with a strong work ethic and was committed to always providing for his family. He worked at Herman Miller for 25 years and most recently was a truck driver for Inontime Transportation. Dennis enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and golfing. He also took pride in his yard, manicuring his lawn and landscaping, having the straightest mowing lines in the neighborhood! Heaven’s gardens have now gained a master landscaper. Above all, his legacy of unwavering faith in Jesus and commitment of sharing the gospel to whoever he met will be forever cherished. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 37 years, Sally Hilbrand; children, Brooke and Randall Sheehe, Shannon and Peter Osbo, Tanner Hilbrand; grandchildren, Cameron, Samantha, Harper, Bexley, Isaac, Alex, Josie, Ryder, and Sydney; his parents, Gerald and Lois Hilbrand; parents-in-law, Roger and Theresa Hulst; siblings, Jerry Hilbrand Jr., Tammy Johnson, April and Steve Gort; brother–in-law and sister-in-law, Donn and Sandy Van Hattem; many loving nieces and nephews; and his dear friend, Ron Ver Hage. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Cottonwood Church, 1101 Cypress Drive, Jenison, with Pastor Jim Johnson and Rev. Matthew Palsrok officiating. The burial will take place at Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday, April 26, from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the ALS Team Gleason Foundation.
His Lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; You have been faithful over a few things; I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord.” Matthew 25:23
