Dena Cuperus

Dena Elsie “Dolly Moerman” Cuperus, age 97, of Hudsonville, went Home on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. She was born on November 8, 1927, in Sioux Center, Iowa, the 10th of 13 children to Pieter and Trijntje Moerman. Dena married Elmer Cuperus of Hull, Iowa, on January 7, 1948, at First Sioux Center Christian Reformed Church and they went on to have five boys. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Elmer; grandsons, Jonathan Cuperus, Tony Augustin; great-grandson, Dathan Kuipers; and daughter-in-law, Christiane Cuperus. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Perry and Susan Cuperus, Evan and Shirley Cuperus, Norman Cuperus, Robert and Maria Cuperus, Alan Cuperus; 16 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Darlene Moerman, Ruth Anderson, Carolee Cuperus; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 16, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Rev. Michael Ten Haken officiating. Burial will take place at Floral View Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Monday, September 15, from 5-8 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to The Jon W. Cuperus Memorial Scholarship Fund at Trinity Christian College.
