Delores Marie Haner

Delores Haner, born August 18, 1936 in Grand Rapids, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at her home while she was surrounded by her kids in Athens, Michigan. Delores was raised in the pentecostal religion and her faith in the Lord has always been strong and her walk with the Lord continues. After raising 6 kids, Delores earned her nursing assistant’s degree and went into taking care of adult foster care elderly from 1975 until she retired in 2002.  She was preceded in death by her one son, David Haner; her parents, Jenny and Royal Haner; and her brothers, Raymond Haner, Jack Haner, Russell Haner, Bob Haner, and Larry Haner.  She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Wanda Norman, June Chivis, Danny Haner, Craig Chivis, Kevin Chivis, Leonard Misner. She was the proud grandma of 12 grandchildren and 19 great children; and she is also survived by her brother, William Haner; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Funeral services will be held 1 pm Thursday, July 24 at MKD Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood  with Rev. Phillip Haner officiating.  Burial will be held at Kent Memorial Gardens.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 12-1 at the funeral home prior to the service.
