David Olin Good

David O. Good, age 97, of Caledonia was welcomed Home by his Lord and all of his loved ones on Wednesday, November 30, 2022. He was preceded in death by his wife Lois; son, James; daughter and son in-law, Barb and Dan Mead. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Marcia and Dean Thompson, Carol Good-Kamradt, Mary and Charlie Peterson, John and Chrisann Good; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; many nieces and nephews. Dave grew up as a farm boy in Caledonia and attended school here where he was captain on the football team. He then went to the military where he served in the US Navy where he was a radar technician. After coming home he met the love of his life, Lois. They were married for over 62 years. Dave worked for his dad, Nelson B. Good and Sons. He continued to work as a Business Mgr. at various places before retiring. Gramps knew his grandchildren intimately and took great pride in helping them when he could. Dave was an avid woodworker where he made many things for his grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on puzzles, and could fix anything. David lived life to the fullest. Funeral services for David will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 6 at Alaska Baptist Church, 7240 68th St. SE, Caledonia, with his grandson’s Matt Mead and Justin McCoy officiating with a private burial held at Lakeside Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 616 E. Main St. SE, Caledonia and at the church on Tuesday from 10 - 10:45 a.m. before services. Those planning an expression of sympathy may make memorial contributions to the Alaska Baptist Church Missionary Fund.
