
David Leonard Boardman, age 83, of Byron Center, Michigan, formerly of Wyckoff, New Jersey, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2022. He was raised in Prospect Park, NJ and graduated from Eastern Christian High School and Cornell University. He met June Klaasen and raised his family in New Jersey before coming to West Michigan. He served as elder and deacon at his churches. He retired after 33 years from ITT as an electrical engineer who worked on military contracts. Dave enjoyed investing, music, and traveling with his wife. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He will be lovingly remembered by, June, his wife of 58 years; children: Thomas and Renee Boardman, Linda and Jeffrey Wheeler, Diane and Craig DeVries; grandchildren: Hannah (Nathan) Carr, Micah Boardman, Leah Boardman, Austin (Alyssa) Wheeler, Alexa (Caleb) Eckl, Jordan (fiancée, Ashley Cherry) DeVries, Emma DeVries; great grandson, Titus Carr, and twins on the way; sister-in-law, Donna Boardman; nephews, Daniel, Russell and Robert (Kristen) Boardman; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Robert Klaasen, Donald (Ruth) Klaasen, Larry (Ardy) Klaasen, Beverly (Donald) Koster, Bruce (Ranay) Klaasen; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Anna Boardman; brother, Alan; brother-in-law, Calvin (Pat) Klaasen. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, November 4, 2022 at Cornerstone United Reformed Church, 6442 36th Ave, Hudsonville, with Rev. Philip Vos officiating. Burial will be held at Pilgrim Home Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming.
